Mary Catherine Kelly is an artist and designer from South Dakota. Her carefully detailed watercolor paintings emphasize her interest in urban landscapes and highlight the neighborhoods, buildings, and architectural elements to which she is drawn. Using a controlled brush, Mary creates pieces with layers of rich colors and harsh shadows that are easily distinguished from the looser and lighter paintings more typical of this medium. Through her work, she hopes to engage viewers with the beauty of historical buildings.
